Graphic Design / Type Design / Art Direction
Patrick Garbit is a French born graphic designer, currently based in Lyon. After two years at Emile Cohl school of illustration and animation, he had a crush on typography. In 2014 he graduated in graphic design.
At the end of his studies Patrick interned at Craig Ward's studio in NY and went back to France at BK|Digital Art Company as an art director. In 2015 he received his first award : TDC certificate of typographic excellence for his helvetica deconstruction : Broken Alphabet.
As a designer Patrick focuses on the glue that unites the signifier and the signified together. Before letters create words something communicates already. Something that is alive and with which we can play.
Through his illustration, animation, typography, design experiences, and also personal works and experimentations, he developed his workflow and style. Mixed tools, mixed genres, from music to fashion, street to digital art.
This website presents a selection of works he did so far.
